September 2nd-MONTPELIER: Superior Athletic Complex was the site of a three-way competition between Hicksville, Montpelier, and Edon. Despite Hicksville taking both first and second place overall, it was Montpelier who claimed the win.
Loco Jared Retiger was the third runner to cross the finish line, turning in a time of 17:46. Michael Blake, also of Montpelier, earned fourth place, running an 18:22. Eighth place belonged to Locomotive runner Alec Waterson and his 19:40 time. Shawn Ramey and Austin Miller took ninth and tenth place, finishing at 19:53 and 19:55, respectively.
Jerry Braun carried the banner for the Bombers taking fifth place at 18:40. Dunkle handed Edon seventh place with a time of 19:19.
In the girls meet, Montpelier took two of the top three spots, including a first place finish by Jaqueline Carlson at 22:10. Jessica Earle was the third place finisher, completing the race at 27:07.
Brenda Harrington gave Edon a third place finisher, recording a time of 25:44. Makayla Bostarter finished the race at 30:01.
