Montpelier Goes Hitless In Bryan Loss

July 5, 2015Updated:December 31, 2020No Comments1 Min Read

(July 1st, 2015) – MONTPELIER: The Locomotives couldn’t build momentum as they tried to battle back against rival team Bryan.  The Golden Bears dominated the match-up, refusing to allow Montpelier to gain even a single hit.

The Locos were still able to score, however, falling to Bryan by a 12-1 margin.

Bryan got off to a strong beginning, scoring a run in each of the first two innings.  Then, in the fourth inning, the Bears added another run to their total.  The fifth inning saw Bryan rack up 3 more runs, with 4 additional runs scored in the top of the sixth.  Montpelier countered with their only run of the contest in the bottom half of the inning, but couldn’t get things going offensively.  The Golden Bears finished the game with a 2 run effort in the top of the seventh, with the Locos unable to counter.

Rising senior Gunnar Matson assumed the loss on behalf of the Montpelier squad.
