Montpelier Locomotive Wrestlers Capture Iron Horse Invitational Crown At Home

106 Lb Champion Wauseon’s Makayla Campbell

MONTPELIER. Head Coach Troy Roth and the Montpelier Locomotives hosted the Iron Horse Invitational wrestling meet on Saturday, December 28. It was a very good outing for the young Loco wrestlers, racking up a team total of 156.5 points. Finishing in second place was the Delta Panthers with 144.5 points, followed by Defiance in third place at 140.5 points on the day. Wauseon’s contingent of wrestlers placed 5th, accumulating 103.5 points.

Individually on the day for the host Locomotives, Sean Taylor took home the 132 lb championship and teammate Hunter McKelvey took home the 170 lb crown. For the Wauseon Indians, McKayla Campbell captured the 106 lb weight class while at 145, teammate Brady Neifer stood up with a first place finish as well.
