Montpelier Locomotives Hold Off Pettisville Blackbirds In Non-Conference Action

MONTPELIER: April 22– The Montpelier Locomotives held tough at home on April 22 against a game Pettisville Squad, holding off the Blackbirds for a narrow 5-4 victory in non-conference action.

On the mound for the Locomotives, Parker Houk earned the victory going 2 and 1/3 innings allowing 2 runs off of 5 hits. Josh Lewellen also saw 4 innings of action allowing just 3 hits and 2 runs, while Cody Caudill also saw 2/3’s of an innings work. For the Blackbirds, Christian Barhite took the setback, giving up 5 runs off of 3 hits and 8 walks in 6 innings of work.

For the Locos offensively, Jared Shoup went 1 for 3 in the game, Lewelln powered out a double and Cody Caudill also logged a hit in the Loco victory.

Offensively for the Blackbirds, Barhite went a strong 3 for 4 at the plate, credited with 2 RBI’s in the loss. Tate Kauffman and Noah Miller powered out a double each on the day while Korben Rychener also connected for a double with a RBI. Evan King rounded out the hitting for Pettisville in the non-conference setback.
