WEST UNITY: April 21– The Hilltop Cadets played host to league leading Stryker on April 21, falling to the visiting Panthers 2-1. In a two way pitching duel between Stryker’s Brody Shock and the Cadets Logan Brooker, Shock came out on top, allowing just 5 hits in the game and setting down 13 Hilltop Batters. Shock’s only run allowed came off a deep drive over the fence by Hilltop’s Chad Champion in the opening inning of the game, while Brooker allowed 2 runs off of 5 hits while advancing 3 by walk in the game.
At the plate for the victorious Panthers, Parker Ruffer powered out a 2 for 3 performance while Zach Birky also went 2 for 3 with an RBI. Shock also helped his effort on the mound by driving in the remaining run.
For the Cadets offensively, Champion provided the power at the plate, going 2 for 3, including the opening inning blast over the fence. Jalen Towers, Miklo Abner and Nic Schieber also recorded hits in the Cadet’s loss.
Stryker moves to 4-1 in the BBC while moving to 5-6 overall on the season. Hilltop falls to 2-2 in the BBC and 3-8 on the year.
