N0903P61001CMONTPELIER – The Montpelier Locomotives were able to hang with the Ayersville Pilots during the first period of their January 5 tilt in The Railyard. The other three quarters…that’s another story. Ayersville turned a three-point first period lead into a blowout, outgunning the Locos 45-16 the rest of the way out to secure a 58-26 non-conference win.

Blaine Thorp led Montpelier with 8 points. Parker Houk, Michael Warner and Jared Shoup each had 4 points, and Cody Caudill and Dalton Surbey had 2 points apiece.
