(May 19th, 2015) – AYERSVILLE: With athletes from the Buckeye Border Conference, as well as certain teams from the North Western Ohio Athletic Conference and the Green Meadows Conference, gathering together at Ayersville High School, the Division III District track meet provided them with the opportunity to showcase their skills, and possibly move on to Regionals. Several competitors representing Montpelier and Pettisville took full advantage of this.

Dylan Snyder put on an astounding display for Montpelier. The Locomotive junior earned two first place finishes on his own, winning the long jump with a leap of 21′ and the 110 meter high hurdles with a time of 15.42. He also contributed to both the 4X200 meter and 4X100 meter relay teams, which both advanced to Regionals as well. The former,, which consisted of Dallas Royer, Simon Wang, Austin Miller, and Snyder, came in first place, running a 1:33.62, while the latter, with Royer, Bryce Cooley, Wang, and Snyder, finished fourth at 45.41.

Also qualifying for Regionals for the Locomotives were Michael Blake and Hunter Shaull. The former, a junior, claimed third place in the 800 meter run, crossing the finish line at 2:03.42. Shaull, a senior, finished third in the 300 meter hurdles, running a 41.56.

Pettisville’s Ethan Brakefield was able to top that performance, however, taking second in the 300 meter hurdles at 39.76, finishing just behind Seth Saylor of Wayne Trace, who turned in a 39.75. Brakefield was also part of a 4X100 meter relay team that finished second, as he teamed with Jakob Waidelich, Nick Brink, and Dustin Nofziger to run a combined time of 45.17.

Also advancing for the Blackbirds is Kyle Lantz. The Pettisville junior put up a fouth place finish in the 1600 meter run to do so, finishing the race with a time of 4:37.37.
