Montpelier To Hold Memorial Day Observance

The Veterans Organizations of the Village of Montpelier will hold their annual Memorial Day Observance on Monday, 27th of May, starting at 10:30 am with a parade form the Town Hall to Riverside Cemetery, with a short pause at the St. Joseph River Bridge. The Invocation and Benediction will be given by Rev. Dave Tilly; Speech by Kevin Motter President Williams County Veterans Commission; Wreath Laying by the Montpelier Posts 109 American Legion, Post 944 VFW and Chapter 83 DAV; A recitation of the Gettysburg Address will be made by Andrew Warner of the Boy Scouts of America; Patriotic Music will be provided by the Montpelier High School Band; Address will be given by Rev. Benaiah Harris; Firing Squad by the Veterans Organizations; and Taps performed by MHS Band. A Decorated Bicycle Judging will be conducted with First Place receiving a $75.00 Gift Card from Wal-Mart. First and Second Runners Up will receive $50.00 Gift Cards. All participants will receive McDonalds Gift Certificates. The Montpelier Veterans Monument will be dedicated and a Picnic style lunch will be hosted at the Veterans Building on Empire Street, across from the Police Station at 12:30 pm.[/emember_protected]
