Nancy Ann Elder, age 81, of Montrose, Co., went to be with her Heavenly Father on May 11, 2013 at her home in Montrose. She was born May 3, 1932 to Roland Markwith and Ruby Belle (Meyers) Hall in Muskegon, Michigan. Nancy spent her childhood in Evansport and Stryker, Ohio, graduating from Stryker High School. She went on to college at St. Vincent’s School in Toledo, Ohio earning her Degree as a RN.
Nancy married Robert Elder in 1954. Robert served his country in the United States Marines, and the family relocated often finally settling in Elkhart, Indiana. Robert and Nancy were transferred to Colorado in 1975 and resided in Morrison, Colorado. Following retirement, Nancy and Bob built the house of their dreams at Log Hill Village in 1992 where they made their home for many years. Robert preceded Nancy in death in 2003 in Ridgway, and Nancy relocated to Montrose, where she made her home until her time of death.
Nancy was active throughout the years, serving in many conservative organizations. She enjoyed painting, cooking and loved to travel. She never met a stranger. Nancy enjoyed meeting new friends and acquaintances wherever life and travels would take her.
Surviving family members include her children Gini Ceresola (Tracy) of Sparks, Nevada; Robert (Cindi) Elder Jr. of Muskegon, Michigan; Jim (Janet) Elder of Montrose, Colorado; Andrew Elder of Muskegon, Michigan; Charlie (Kim) Elder of Montrose, Colorado; brother Stan Hall of Kansas City, Kansas; Grandchildren: Corrine, Les, Chelsea, Katharine, Laura Belle, Jaimee, Jessica, Andi Elizabeth, Bailey Anne, Rachel and Michael, and two great grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Western Colorado, in memory of Nancy Elder, P.O. Box 1804, Montrose, Co. 81402. A Private family memorial service was held at her home with family celebrating her life. Arrangements were under the care of Crippin Funeral Home & Crematory, Montrose, Colorado.
