In 2008, Fayette School’s new building was built with two gyms, one on the High School portion of the school and the other on the Junior High/Elementary side.
Since then, the gym floors have been worn from many games, events and school rallies. After the school was able to, they were put on a rotation for resurfacing both gym floors.
Robert’s Floor from Toledo, a company the school has used for quite some time, went right to work and finished the floors in a timely manner.
Before the floor was resurfaced, custodians Matt Maginn and Chad Lavinder prepared it to be ready for construction. The new floor in the Junior High gym is a lighter color scheme compared to the last floors and brightens up the entire gym.
Athletic Director Kortney Kessler, stated, “We are extremely happy with how our resurfaced.” Kessler went on to share, “We are excited for our student athletes to enjoy this beautiful gym for many years to come.”
In regard to the future physical appearance of the school, Superintendent, Angela Belcher, hopes to maintain and keep it looking new.
Belcher stated, “We are adding a pergola outside of our cafeteria with tables to provide additional space allowing for social distancing.”
“Not only will students be able to eat lunch outside in the new area, but teachers will also have the opportunity to use the new outdoor space for instructional purposes as well.”
