Nineteen Indicted By Williams County Grand Jury

The Williams County Grand Jury convened on October 18, 2022 and returned indictments against nineteen individuals. Those indicted include:

Travis H. Crager, 43, of Angola was indicted on one count of Breaking and Entering, a fifth-degree felony, and one count of Theft, a fourth-degree felony. Crager is charged with using force, stealth, or deception to trespass in an occupied structure in Montpelier to commit a theft valued at $2890 on or about July 24, 2021 through August 16, 2021.

Jeffrey T. Diehl, 52, of Bryan was indicted for Aggravated Possession of Drugs, a third-degree felony. Diehl is charged with possessing and/or using methamphetamine on or about September 4.

Jeffrey S. Dietsch, 35, of Defiance was indicted on two counts of Vandalism, each a fifth-degree felony.  Dietsch is charged with causing physical harm to property owned by The Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio on or September 16 and September 24.

Sarah R. Doeden, 38, of Bryan was indicted for Aggravated Possession of Drugs, a fifth-degree felony. Doeden is charged with possessing and/or using methamphetamine on or about June 17.

Harlie J. Geren, 27, of Bryan was indicted for Aggravated Possession of Drugs, a fifth-degree felony. Geren is charged with possessing and/or using methamphetamine on or about September 22.

Nicholas S. Handshoe, 50, of Decatur, Indiana was indicted on a total of four counts including one count of Aggravated Trafficking in Drugs, a third-degree felony; one count of Possession of Hashish, a third-degree felony; one count of Aggravated Possession of Drugs, a fifth-degree felony; and one count of Operating a Vehicle Under the Influence of Alcohol or Drug of Abuse, a first-degree misdemeanor.  Handshoe is charged with possessing and/or using, as well as preparing for sale or distribution, Hashish on or October 5, 2021.  Handshoe is additional accused of possessing and/or using methamphetamine as well as of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time.

Melanie J. Hedger, 40, of Sherwood was indicted for Assault, a fifth-degree felony.  Hedger is charged with causing or attempting to cause physical harm to a corrections officer at The Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio while Hedger was under custody on or about October 7.

Brooke I. Keller, 24, of Montpelier was indicted for Theft, a fifth-degree felony.  Keller is charged with the theft of $2919.00 in cash from the Holiday City Sunoco between the approximate dates of July 2 and July 3, 2022.

Raymond M. Lipsey, 27, of Toledo was indicted for Failure to Appear, a fourth-degree felony.  Lipsey is charged with failing to appear as required by the court in connection with a previous felony charge.

Daniel G. Merillat, 42, of Alvordton was indicted for Operating a Vehicle Under the Influence of Alcohol or Drug of Abuse, a third-degree felony, and for Aggravated Possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony.  Merillat is charged with possessing and/or using methamphetamine as well as of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of drugs or alcohol on or about October 13.  Specifications indicate that Merillat had been previously convicted of or pleaded guilty to three or more violations of Operating a Motor Vehicle at the time of the offense.

Jamie A. Powers, 34, of Williams County was indicted for Aggravated Possession of Drugs, a fifth-degree felony.  Powers is charged with possessing and/or using methamphetamine on or about September 22.

Matthew A.E. Quota, 46, of Bryan was indicted for Aggravated Possession of Drugs, a fifth-degree felony.  Quota is charged with possessing and/or using methamphetamine on or about September 19.

Rocky W. Reynolds, 37, of Edon was indicted on one count of Breaking and Entering, a fifth-degree felony, and one count of Theft, a fourth-degree felony. Reynolds is charged with using force, stealth, or deception to trespass in an occupied structure in Montpelier to commit a theft valued at $2890 on or about July 24, 2021 through August 16, 2021.

Joshua D. Roden, 19, of Bryan was indicted for Grand Theft of a Motor Vehicle, a fourth-degree felony.  Roden is accused of the theft of a Honda motorcycle on or about September 2.

Ashley M. Rodriguez, 28, of Napoleon was indicted for Illegal Conveyance of a Drug of Abuse onto the Grounds of a Detention Facility, a third-degree felony, and Aggravated Possession of Drugs, a third-degree felony. Rodriguez is charged with possessing and/or using methamphetamine, as well as of carrying methamphetamine onto the grounds of The Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio, on or about August 2.

Gabriel L. Ross, 33, of Bryan was indicted for Failure to Comply with Order or Signal of Police Officer, a third-degree felony.  Ross is charged with failing to stop after being signaled to do so by law enforcement on or about September 24.

Matthew J. Schindler, 38, of Bryan was indicted on two counts of Aggravated Possession of Drugs, each a fifth-degree felony.  Schindler is charged with possessing and/or using methamphetamine on or about August 20 and September 25.

Leslie L. Young, 41, of Bryan was indicted for Complicity to Grand Theft of a Motor Vehicle, a fourth-degree felony, and Aggravated Possession of Drugs, a fifth-degree felony.  Young is accused of acting with culpability and aiding and abetting Joshua D. Roden and Paul D. Young in committing the theft of a Honda motorcycle on or about September 2.  Young is additionally charged with possessing and/or using methamphetamine on or about October 13.

Paul D. Young, 41, of Bryan was indicted for Complicity to Grand Theft of a Motor Vehicle, a fourth-degree felony.  Young is accused of acting with culpability and aiding and abetting Joshua D. Roden in committing the theft of a Honda motorcycle on or about September 2.

It should be noted that an indictment is merely an accusation and that all criminal defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty in a court of law.
