The Madison Township Trustees met in a regular session on Monday, March 23, 2026, at the township office.
Trustees in attendance were Mark Schmucker, Terry Huffman, and Jen Zuver. Huffman called the meeting to order, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. The reading of the minutes from the March 9 meeting was waived.
Tony Carpenter requested the trustees to look at the catch basin on County Road 16. He said the water is running backwards from the catch basin.
The county will send a camera crew to investigate the drainage tiles, as water and flooding have washed out the berm of County Road 16. Carpenter also requested permission to pick up cold patch to make repairs as soon as weather permits.
In other business, Huffman received a phone call about purchasing a cemetery plot for the Traxler family. He suggested that the family contact Carpenter for more information.
Madison Township clean-up days are scheduled for Friday and Saturday, April 24-25. Carpenter will check on the cost with Todd Brigle and make sure he has enough dumpsters available.
Trustees were informed that North Central Local Schools are looking for someone to become an inspector for the inspection of exit and fire doors.
A four-hour online course is needed to obtain certification. It was suggested that the Fire Department might be interested in this.
Madison Township/Kunkle Fire Department Chief Jason Marvin has tried to contact Kyle Brigle regarding the first responders class but has received no response. The cost of the class is $175 per person.
