North Central Lady Cadets Blast Past Fayette At Home 22-3

PIONEER, April 17– The tough season continued for the Lady Eagles from Fayette on April 17, falling to the host North Central Lady Eagles by the score of 22-3 in a game that shut down in the middle of the 5th inning.

On the mound for the Eagles in the victory, Makayla Hayes went 3 innings, allowing just 1 hit and no runs while recording 2 strikeouts. Also seeing action for the Lady Eagles in the win, Jazmine Becker went an inning, allowing 2 hits and 1 run while Alyssa Swank closed it out for North Central, holding Fayette to no hits in 1 innings work.

Offensively for North Central, Rachael Oxender got a hold of the ball 3 times for 3 singles and 3 RBI’s in the win. Tristin Tomblin hit for 2 singles, driving in 2 RBI’s and Abbey Litzenberg had an RBI off of a single. Allyson Hutchison, Alyssa Swank and Shayleigh Barnett also hit for singles in the game in the victory for the Lady Eagles.

For Fayette, Leah Bussing was tagged with the loss, going 3 and 2/3’s inning allowing 8 hits and 22 runs, advancing 5 batters on hit pitches and walking 9.

Taylor Hartman drove the ball deep for a triple in the loss, while Jenna Meyers pounded out a double. Kaitlin Brubaker rounded out the offence for Fayette, connecting for a single.

The win brings North Central to 1-3 in the BBC and 5-7 on the season. The loss leaves Fayette still searching for a victory, setting at 0-4 in the BBC and 0-5 on the season.
