North Central Plays Big At Fifth-Third Field In Toledo; Take Down Hilltop Cadets 7-4

TOLEDO:  May 06- The North Central Eagles took their show on the road on may 6 to Fifth-Third Field in Toledo to face in conference foe Hilltop.  The Eagles played big time in the big house, holding steady for a 7-4 victory to move to 8-1 in the BBC and 15-3 overall on the year.

Toeing the rubber for the Eagles in the win, Branden Turner showcased his skills with a hard fought 2 hit win, allowing 2 earned runs on the evening, striking out a season high 15 hitters on the game.

Offensively for the Eagles, Josh sawyer continued to have a big year at the plate, connecting for a double and a single, driving in 2 RBI’s in the win.  Turner also helped his cause with 2 hits at the plate while Alex Proper connected for a single driving in a run.  Jordan Bailey and Jordan Reeves also drove in RBI’s in the victory, while Clayton Ferguson rounded out the Eagles production in the game with a single.

For the Cadets in the loss, Logan Brooker took the setback, allowing 4 hits and 7 runs over 3 innings.  Nic Schieber and Chad Champion also saw action on the mound for Hilltop in the loss.

For the Cadets at the plate, Chad Champion had the big stick, connecting for a triple and driving in 3 RBI’s.  Justin Grapengeter also hit for a single.
