MONTPELIER: May 09- The Montpelier Locomotives played host on May 9 to powerhouse Defiance Tinora, falling to the visiting Rams in 5 innings 16-0 behind 3 hit pitching from the Rams.
It was a team effort on the mound, as the Locos featured Jared Shoup, Gunnar Matson, Josh Lewellen and Dalton Surbey on the rubber. Combined, the Locos gave up 14 hits on the afternoon, allowing 16 runs while advancing 10 runners by walk in the loss.
For the Locos at the plate, it was a tough outing, with just 2 Locos connecting for 3 hits on the day. Parker Houk went 2 for 2 with a single and a double while teammate Keegan Hitzeman logged a hit in the defeat for Montpelier.
