North Central Softballers Gain Split In Doubleheader With Hamilton

HAMILTON, IN – The Lady Eagles of North Central took the bus west into the Hoosier State to play two with Hamilton on Saturday, April 6.  The Eagles came out cold in the opener falling 7-5, but were red hot in the finale blowing out the hosts 15-2 in five innings.

Game #1

The Eagles put up 10 hits in the opener, but that was not enough overcome the seven errors that led to six unearned runs.
McKayla Swank went the distance surrendering seven runs with only one being earned, four hits, three K’s, and four free passes.
Bralyn Wyrick doubled and singled twice, while Madison Messner picked up two RBI with two singles.  Sabrina Pickford collected two base hits, with Shaylee Oyer, Abbey Litzenberg, and Reese Cogswell each singling.

The Eagles broke out the whoopin sticks in the finale scoring eight runs in the first inning and cruising the rest of the way to claim the victory.
Cogswell hurled the first two innings for North Central shutting out the Marines on two hits and fanned a trio.  Jazmine Becker pitched the final three frames allowing two runs, three hits, and three strikeouts.
North Central pounded out 12 hit en route to win.  No individual batting stats were reported.
