ARCHBOLD, OHIO – The Northwest State Community College Foundation is hosting its annual Green Carpet Event, “Hats Off” on Thursday, May 12. Proceeds from the event benefit student scholarships, and the evening will feature gourmet food stations, a comedy hypnotist, a cash bar and silent auction beginning at 5:30 p.m. Highlighting the evening will be the presentation of the 2016 Making a Difference Award. This award was created by the NSCC Foundation as a way to recognize and celebrate an individual, business and organization in the six-county area committed to bettering their community. This year’s recipients include Rick Small, Dental Excellence of Napoleon and Adriel Foster Care.

Many outstanding auction items have been donated by individuals and businesses including: Disney World theme park passes, a vacation package to the Smoky Mountains, tickets to great sporting events, a golf membership, valuable gift cards and much more.

“The Making a Difference Award honors those who have had a positive impact in the six-county region served by Northwest State. It is not about what the award recipients have done for the College but what they have done to change lives in our local communities,” said Robbin Wilcox, foundation director of development at NSCC. “We tip our collective hat to those committed to making a difference in their communities.”

Platinum sponsors for the evening include: Chase Brass, First Federal Bank, Parkview Physicians Group, Rupp Seeds, Inc., Sauder Companies, SJS Investment Consulting, Inc. and Swanton Welding & Machining Company.

The Green Carpet Event is open to the public by reservation. Tickets are $75 per person and are available through May 5. All proceeds will benefit NSCC student scholarships. For more information or to purchase tickets, contact Robbin Wilcox at 419.267.1460, rwilcox@NorthwestState.edu
