Klara H. “Hella” Sleesman, 89, of Montpelier passed away early Thursday morning at Evergreen Manor Nursing Home in Montpelier. She was born on April 16, 1927 in Frankfurt Germany to Bernard and Klara (Gehrlein) Sidenspinner. On January 7, 1955 she married Albert Lee Sleesman in Frankfurt Germany and he survives. Hella was raised as a Catholic in Germany and continued her beliefs when she came to live in the states.
Hella worked at Campbell Soup in Napoleon for several years. She then worked at Robinair in the shipping department. For 10 years she worked at Mohawk Tools in Montpelier as a secretary, until her retirement in 1974.
She is survived by her husband Albert and several nieces and nephews.
Hella was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters and one brother.
Visitation for Hella will be on Monday, May 9, 2016 from 4-7pm at the Thompson Funeral Home on Main Street in Montpelier. Services will be on Tuesday at 11am at the funeral home with Deacon Tom Dominique to officiate.
