ARCHBOLD – Jayden Seiler tossed a complete game four-hitter and provided his own offense with an RBI sacrifice fly in the second inning as the Bluestreaks won 1-0, their seventh straight win.
The game’s only run came in the bottom of the second with Mason Siegel starting things off with a single to left and Carson Dominique reached on an infield single after a Stephen Diller strikeout to give the Streaks runners on the corners with one out.
Seiler then provided all the scoring he would need by lifting a fly ball to right which allowed Siegel to tag up and score from third base for a 1-0 Archbold lead.
Archbold threatened again in the bottom of the third as Chase Miller and Krayton Kern each singled around a Devon Morris fly out to give the Bluestreaks two on with one out.
Bryan starter Dylan Dominique was up to the challenge though as he would get Siegel to popout and Diller to strikeout to escape the inning.
Bryan would get two runners on base in the fourth inning, but Dylan Dominique hit into a fielder’s choice to end the frame.
The Golden Bears best scoring opportunity came in the fifth with two outs as Noah Huard laced a double to left followed by Jase Kepler drawing a four-pitch walk to put runners at first and second.
Seiler though slammed the door as he induced a groundout to third by Taysen Deckrosh to hold the lead at 1-0.
Seiler would allow just one baserunner over the last two innings and retired Bryan 1-2-3 in the seventh to close out the game.
Dylan Dominique was just as dominant on the hill for Bryan giving up just the one run on five hits while striking out four.
