METAMORA (September 23, 2025) – On a rainy, messy night at Evergreen, the Vikings had a multitude of chances to score and misfired. Swanton had only a few tries at the net but made good on two of those to take a 2-0 win over the Vikings.
Swanton’s first score in the wet conditions came after Evergreen had missed on two tries of their own.
Tyson Lapointe’s header was saved by Landon Hendricks 16 minutes in, then a minute later, Hendricks snared a hooking drive from Adam Vaughn to keep the game scoreless.
With 17:41 left in the half, Coby Sharrit went down the right side, and after no one picked him up, he punched a ball into the far side of the net for a score to give Swanton the lead.
Lapointe had a golden chance to tie the game with 15 to go in the half when he was 1-v-1 with the goalie but sailed his shot far over the crossbar.
Blake Fisher had another chance to score for the Vikings late in the first, but his shot from the right was grabbed by Hendricks. Eight minutes into the second, Evan Reinhard provided the final tally, off a pass from Eli Bolyard to make it 2-0.
Hendricks had 16 saves in the game for Swanton. Alex Mossing had four for Evergreen.
