The 2021 Queens of Edon Pageant took place on Saturday July 30th at 5:30pm. The contest took place at the Edon Northwest Schools Auditeria where friends and family joined together to give support to each contestant. A 50/50 drawing was available at the door upon entry as well as a People’s Choice Award that goes towards helping the Community Scholarship.
All 17 contestants came on stage to perform a dance to the song The Greatest Showman. Stephanie Carr then introduced herself as the ringleader of the circus and new director of the Queens of Edon Pageant. Stephanie thanked everyone for coming and handed the mic over to Brooklyn Morris.
The judges for the pageant were then introduced. The judges were Emily Hauter, Tray Ramos, and Kristin Ray. Everyone was informed that the contestants had done a personal interview with the judges earlier that day. The score given during their interview will be used as a part of their final score.
The Little Miss Edon contestants were then welcomed to the stage for their introduction and casual wear. The Little Miss Edon contestants were Kailey Livensparger, Marissa Disbro, Wynter Aldrich, Evelyn Hernandez, and Raegan Kellogg. The contest then moved onto the Junior Miss Edon introduction and casual wear portion. The Junior Miss Edon contestants were Mylee Spillman, Kenlee Brigle, Harley Owens and Clara Reitzel.
The Teen Miss Edon contestants then came on the stage for the introduction and casual wear portion. Teen Miss Edon contestants were Lilly Rohlf, Avyonna Hamrick, Autumn Owens, and Meadow Goebel. It was then time for the Miss Edon contestants to come on stage for the introduction and casual wear portion. The Miss Edon contestants were Heavenlee Owens, Desiree Dunkle, MaKiya Smart, and Hayleigh Angeli.
The 2019 Miss Edon Melody Nofziger then came on stage to sing the song Never Enough from the movie The Greatest Showman. Afterwards, the Little Miss contestants started the formal wear portion of the pageant. After each contestant had gone through, the 2019 Little Miss Edon Cora Brigle and 2019 Miss Edon Melody Nofziger came up to ask the questions for the on-stage questionnaire portion.
The Junior Miss Formal Wear portion of the pageant was next. Contestants took their turn on stage before coming back on stage to complete the on-stage questionnaire portion. This portion brought up 2019 Junior Miss Edon Avery Aldrich and 2019 Miss Edon Melody Nofziger. The Teen Miss Edon portion followed next. Contestants came up and showed off their outfits before heading offstage and readying for the concentration and onstage presentation. The presentation shows what the girls have done that focused on community volunteering and bringing awareness to the community on various subjects.
The 2019 Teen Miss Edon Marianna Peterson came up and spoke about what her community concentration had been. Afterward, the 2021 Teen Miss Edon contestants came back up to speak. Moving on, the Miss Formal Wear portion came next. Each of the contestants came up and showed off their dresses. 2019 Miss Edon Melody Nofziger then came up to talk about her community concentration followed by each of the contestants.
A short intermission then took place followed by the final walk of the 2019 Queens. 2019’s Little Miss Edon Cora Brigle came on stage with her parents. She then handed out the awards for the Little Miss category. Little Miss Edon Congeniality went to Kailey Livensparger. Little Miss Edon Photogenic went to Evelyn Hernandez. Little Miss Edon First Runner Up went to Wynter Aldrich. The 2021 Little Miss Edon went Evelyn Hernandez.
Next the 2019 Junior Miss Edon Avery Aldrich came up for her final walk with her parents. Avery was also escorted by her parents. Miss Avery then handed out the awards for the Junior Miss category. The Junior Miss Edon Congeniality went to Harley Owens. The Junior Miss Edon Photogenic went to Mylee Spillman. The Junior Miss Edon First Runner up went to Kenlee Brigle. The 2021 Junior Miss Edon went to Clara Reizel.
2019’s Teen Miss Edon Marianna Peterson then came out for her final walk with her parents. She then handed out the awards for the Teen Miss category. The Teen Miss Edon Congeniality went to Autumn Owens. The Teen Miss Edon Photogenic went to Avyonna Hamrick. The Teen Miss Edon First Runner up went to Lilly Rohlf. The 2021 Teen Miss Edon went to Avyonna Hamrick.
Finally, 2019’s Miss Edon Melody Nofziger came back up for her final walk as Queen and was escorted by her parents. Miss Melody then handed out the awards for the Miss category. The Miss Edon Congeniality went to Desiree Dunkle. The Miss Edon Photogenic went to MaKiya Smart. The Miss Edon First Runner up went to MaKiya Smart. The 2021 Miss Edon went to Desiree Dunkle.
All the contestants came back onto the stage to take pictures with friends and family. 2021’s new Miss Edon Desiree Dunkle was surprised on stage by her brothers who are in the Army. Desiree did not know that they were going to be there and was pleasantly surprised. After taking pictures the girls went and joined their friends and family. Congratulations to all the contestants for the 2021 Queens of Edon Pageant.
