Delta Village Council Discusses Street Projects

The Delta village council held their meeting on Monday June 21st at 5:30PM. The meeting was called to order with the pledge of allegiance and a prayer following after.

Roll call was taken with Anthony Dawson absent. A motion to excuse Dawson made and approved. A motion to approve the minutes from last month was made and approved.

No public that was present wished to address the council. With no correspondence the village administrator made a request for a meeting of the rules and ordinance committee to review the addition of section 505.192 regarding certain animals within corporate limits.

It was decided that the discussion will take place after the meeting on July 12th. The village is interested in curb replacements on main street and was working with ODOT to replace 8,500 lineal feet of curb.

Two companies were approached by ODOT to do the work, but both declined.


The pavement should be done within the next few weeks and the curbs will have to be looked at getting replaced within the next year or two.

A list of sidewalk projects was given that need to be replaced with it adding up to around 750 lineal feet of sidewalk.

The finance director made a request to approve the invoices presented. A motion was made and approved.


She also notified each of the council members that an income tax comparison sheet for the last 3 years had been passed to each of them.

In old business: Ordinance 21-08 third reading is an ordinance establishing weight limits for all vehicles on any dedicated alley within the village of Delta. A motion was made to approve and was passed.

Ordinance 21-09 second reading authorizing the village administrator to make application and execute all required documents with the United States Department of Agriculture for the receipt of grant and or loan funds to facilitate the construction of a water tower to replace an existing and deteriorating structure. A motion was made to approve and was passed.


Resolution 21-05 second reading is an ordinance authorizing the village administrator to enter into an agreement with Jones and Henry Engineers LTD to complete an inundation report for reservoir NO.2 being mandated by Ohio EPA. A motion to approve was made and was passed.

Resolution 21-06 second reading is an ordinance authorizing the Village administrator to enter into an agreement with Jones and Henry Engineers for the service to design connection into the Fulton County water system. A motion to approve was made and was passed.

New business: Resolution 21-07 first reading is an ordinance authorizing the village administrator to enter into an agreement with Jones and Henry engineers for service to design sanitary sewer service for areas along County Road H near State Route 109. A motion to approve was made and was passed.

Resolution 21-08 First reading with emergency provisions is a resolution authorizing the village administrator to execute renewal for property and liability insurance coverage with the Ohio plan with emergency provisions. A motion to approve was made and was passed.

A motion was made to enter an executive session to review pending or eminent legal matters. After returning the council voted to adjourn. The next meeting will take place Monday July 12th, 2021, at 5:30pm.
