Wauseon City Council Discusses Progress Of Downtown Mural

The Wauseon City Council held their meeting on Monday August 2nd at 5PM. The meeting began with the Pledge of Allegiance followed by a moment of silence.

Roll call was then initiated with Council President Chamberlin, and Councilors Stiriz, Stickley, Griggs, Heising, and Schneider present.

A motion was then made by Mayor Huner to approve the minutes for the prior meeting which was approved. Council then moved to hear committee reports.

A summary of the building and grounds meeting was given by Councilor Stickley. Mr. Stickley informed the council that Keith Torbet is working on annexing thirteen different areas within the city with focus currently on the bike trail.

Building and grounds recommended to allow Kayla Baker to submit a petition on behalf of the city to annex parcel 05-007965-00.000.


With no legislative actions pending, council moved on to new business. Mayor Huner informed council that the Wauseon Beautification Team is painting murals throughout the city.

The one being worked on currently is at the corner of East Elm Street and North Fulton Street and so far, has Wauseon painted on it with plans to add more coming soon.

A motion was then made to approve and pay the bills as read and was approved. A motion was then made to adjourn which was approved at 5:17pm.
