According to Stryker Fiscal Officer Beth Rediger, the painting of the Stryker water tower on Railroad Street will be a 2024 project.
Step one, putting in a grant for the project, is in the books. The village has applied for a grant of $418,000.
Rediger said that the grant will be put forth as a resolution before the village council, at the June 20 meeting.
With approval of the resolution, Rediger stated that Maumee Valley will be handling the grant proposal for the village.
Before the painting can begin, Emily Clemens, who handles income tax and utility billing for the village, stated that the water tower will first have to be sandblasted on the inside.
Then, painting will take place on both the inside and outside of the water tower.
