Local law enforcement agencies across Williams County are teaming up for the annual Park With The Police event, scheduled for Saturday, June 13, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at The Imagination Station, 525 Newdale Dr., Bryan.
The free, family-friendly event is geared toward children ages 2 to 10 and aims to build positive connections between kids and their local law enforcement officers.
Activities will include a bicycle safety obstacle course with a bicycle raffle at the end of the event, a K-9 bite demonstration, a dunk tank featuring police officers, bounce houses, an inflatable obstacle course, a photo booth, tug-of-war, ice cream, donuts and a shooting education station.
Children will also have the opportunity to challenge a police officer to a game of tag on the playground or a game of C.O.P. on the basketball court.
Exotic Zoo will provide a one-hour animal demonstration at 10 a.m. featuring a kangaroo, sloth and more. Four of a Kind Entertainment LLC will provide furry overstuffed animal carts and other rides. Nockingpoint Outfitters will assist with an archery trailer.
A Bonzi hunting K-9 retrieving demonstration will be provided by a team from Leo, Ind.
Food will be available on a free-will donation basis, with meals prepared by Calli’s Smokehouse and drinks provided by Bryan Biggby. All proceeds will go toward K-9 funds for local Williams County agencies.
Each participating K-9 unit will also have a silent auction basket, with all funds raised going directly to that K-9.
Every child who arrives will have a chance to enter for a prize, with additional prizes raffled off throughout the event. Children must be present at the end of the event to win.
