Pat Fuller (1933 – 2024)

October 24, 2024No Comments2 Mins Read

(Attended Wilkins United Methodist In Swanton)

Pat Fuller, born November 7, 1933 to Frank and Helen (Bailey) Knapp, died peacefully Saturday morning, October 19, 2024 surrounded by her family.

Pat grew up in Sylvania, Ohio, graduating from Burnham High School. She attended First Christian Church where she taught Bible and Sunday School. After graduating, she worked at Surface Combustion in the secretarial pool.

Pat married Melvin Fuller August 1, 1953. After her first born arrived, she became a full-time homemaker.

In her later years, she attended Wilkins United Methodist Church in Swanton, Ohio where she served as treasurer for many years. She also was a member of the choir, taught Sunday School and worked with the Ladies Aid helping to make quilts.

Because her husband Mel traveled for his work, she was able to visit many National Parks across the country. She loved the parks and her favorite was Yosemite in California.

Her hobbies included watching and feeding the birds, gardening, and baking. She frequently received birdseed as a Christmas present. She also loved growing flowers and often provided them for the altar at church.

She helped Mel and her children with cutting and splitting wood for the fireplace. She was still swinging an axe and maul well into her seventies. Many claim that Pat’s chocolate chip cookies were the best ever made with pineapple and Grandma Bailey’s sugar cookies a close second.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents, siblings Norton (Thelma) Knapp, William Knapp, Jean (Vaughn) Smith, Florence (Melvin) Fleck, as well as her her husband, Melvin and daughter, Becky Haynes. She is survived by her children Ken (Joan) Fuller, Pam (Gary) Spurrell, and Lori Fuller, grandchildren, Brock Spurrell, Brook Spurrell, Jacob Haynes, and Jaclyn (Tyler) Seale, and great-grand-children Zandyr Spurrell, Carson and Connor Seale.

Visitation will be held at Wilkins Evangelical Church on Friday, October 25th from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, where funeral services will begin at 11:00 am, with Pastor Arnie Elton presiding.

Donations should be made to Wilkins Evangelical Church, 2324 Wilkins Road, Swanton, OH 43558. To send flowers to the family in memory of Patsy Lou Fuller, please visit our flower store.
