(PRESS RELEASE) Northwest Township – The Defiance Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a serious injury crash on November 23, 2024, that occurred at approximately 12:14 A.M. in Northwest Township, Williams County.
Connor Towers, age 20, of Edon, Ohio, was driving a 2014 Chevrolet 3500 northbound on County Road 1.50 at the intersection of US-20. Hunner Mravec, age 27, was driving a 2019 Buick Regal eastbound on US-20. Tumurchudur Munkhbat, age 46, was driving a 2016 Volvo semi-tractor westbound on US-20.
Mr. Towers failed to yield the right of way from County Road 1.50 and was struck by Mr. Mravec and Mr. Munkhbat.
Mr. Mravec and his front seat passenger were transported to Parkview Montpelier Hospital by ambulance with serious injuries. Mr. Towers sustained minor injuries and was not transported. Mr. Munkhbat was not injured.
The Patrol was assisted on scene by Williams County Sheriff’s Office, Williams County Emergency Medical Services, Northwest Township Fire and Rescue and John’s Towing. The roadway was closed for approximately 3 hours.
Alcohol is suspected to be a factor in the crash. The Ohio State Highway Patrol reminds all motorists to always wear safety belts, and to never drive impaired or distracted.
The crash remains under investigation.
