PIONEER – Two of the premier guards in the area went head-to-head on December 6 as North Central played host to Pettisville in a BBC hookup. The first half saw Jalen Dancer of North Central and David Reyes of Pettisville trading off jumpers and rainmakers as the Eagles took a 25-20 lead over the Blackbirds at the half.

As Blackbirds’ coach Greg Nofziger said after the game, “We knew we had to do something about the Dancer kid,” and something they did…adjust. The defensive adjustments took Dancer out of the game. His 18 points in the first half were matched by just 2 in the second as Pettisville rallied to beat the Eagles by ten, 49-39.

Reyes knocked down a game-high 28 for the Blackbirds, with Kurt Siegel getting 7. Dominic Frey and Austin Dykstra each had 6 points, and Tanner Rufenacht had 2.

Dancer finished with 20 points, while Clayton Ferguson and Branden Turner each had 5. Kole Peterson had 4 points, Brandon Geiser 3 and Cam Cochran 2 for the Eagles

SCORING BY QUARTER:

Pettisville  8  12  15  14 – 49
North Central  13  12  6  8 – 39
