(January 30th, 2015) – EDON: The boys of Pettisville hit the road, making the long trek to Edon to take on the Bombers.

And they made sure the journey was a fruitful one, defeating the Edon boys 68-27.

The Bombers had a difficult time keeping pace from the start. By the end of the first quarter, Edon was down 19-6. Pettisville continued to control both ends of the court in the second quarter, building a 30-12 advantage heading into the locker room. The third period went similarly as well, with the Blackbirds outscoring the Bombers 21-4. Edon increased its offensive output in the fourth quarter, but the Pettisville boys continued to score as well, as the Bomber boys found themselves losing the period 17-11.

Leading Pettisville in scoring was senior Josh Liechty, who made all 6 of his shot attempts in the game to total 13 points. Gabe Beck and Eli King each offered 12 points to the Blackbird cause. Dustin Lucas, a junior, contributed 8 points in the win as well.

The Bombers were led by Jim Peckham, whose 8 for 8 performance from the free throw line helped propel him to 10 points. Alex Kirkingburg, the lone senior on the Edon squad, totaled 7 points against a vicious Pettisville defense. Sophomore Brayden Bauer connected on a triple on his way to 6 points. Landon Bloir, normally the primary source of scoring for the Edon boys, was held to just 4 points in the contest.
