Freshman FFA members from Fulton County schools gathered on October 2 for Fulton County FFA Greenhand Day at the Fulton County Fairgrounds.

The Greenhand degree is the first year degree FFA members may earn after meeting the requirements of demonstrating FFA knowledge.

Twenty-one Pettisville FFA members attended the event where they traveled to the Career Development Event (CDE), FFA 101, and Team Building stations.

At the Career Development Event (CDE) station members were split into groups to travel to the different CDEs to learn what each entailed.

Five FFA upperclassmen worked at CDE stations. Sophie Wilke and Natalia Alencastro discussed the ways to handle animals by a demonstration on how to put a halter on a bull to represent the Vet Science CDE. Kyle Galvin, Kaleb Wyse, and Creighton Aeschliman worked at the outdoor power CDE station.

The FFA 101 station helped FFA members obtain knowledge needed to get their Greenhand FFA degree. Genevieve Galvin and Olivia Beck led freshmen members in putting together an FFA emblem puzzle and then identifying the parts of the emblem.

Finally, in the team building station, Ava Genter, Courtney Wiemken, Olivia Miller and Noelle Fox led first-year FFA members through interactive stations where they worked together in teams.
