Pettisville JV Win On The Road Against Edon

December 14, 2014Updated:December 31, 2020No Comments2 Mins Read

(December 12th, 2014) – EDON: After getting outscored in the first quarter, the Pettisville Junior Varsity girls refused to allow another point to be scored on them.

The Lady Bombers finished the first period of play with a 6-5 lead on their guests from Pettisville. Unfortunately, they were unable to find the basket again in the game after the Lady Blackbirds turned up the defensive pressure.

Putting up 6 points in the second quarter, Pettisville went into the half with an 11-6 advantage. They nearly doubled that in the third stanza, scoring 10 points. With the game well in hand, the fourth quarter was relatively uneventful. The Pettisville girls totaled 5 points in the period.

The freshman duo of Sami Tilley and Kendal Pursel led the scoring blitz for the Blackbirds. Each girl scored 8 points in the victory, leaving just 10 points of production coming from the rest of the squad.

After a rough start to the season against some tough competition, this win had to feel good for the Lady Blackbirds. The Lady Bombers have also struggled early into their year. The best part of junior varsity basketball is the resiliency that comes with the youth of the players. Edon will regroup and bounce back from this loss.
