Pettisville Lady Blackbirds Defend The Birdcage Versus A Tough Montpelier

1-22-13 Pv v Montp GBB (AW) (10) WEBPETTISVILLE – The Montpelier Lady Locomotives travelled to The Birdcage in Pettisville for a round of NWOAL versus BBC hoops on January 22. The teams matched up evenly all the way around, except for play in the paint…advantage Pettisville. That advantage came in the form of Dana Fricke tipping the balance with 10 points, and a Ladybird squad that held a 30-12 advantage on the boards. The result was a hard-fought 35-29 win for the hometown girls.
Lauren Hostetler hit for 14 to lead 9-6 Pettisville, while Fricke added 10 points, Mikala Avina 9, and Audra Klopfenstein 2 points.
Lauren Dye hit on 14 points for Montpelier, with Hannah Blake getting 9 points, MacKenzie Martinich 4 points and Christina Prather 2.
