TIFFIN – The local field was narrowed down considerably at the 2013 D-III Tiffin Regionals on May 29 and 31. The Montpelier Locomotives were unable to qualify for the trip with their tandem of Blaine Thorp, Michael Warner and the 4×400 team, and the Pettisville Blackbirds, the most well represented local squad in Tiffin, also saw their numbers cut dramatically, but the power of the core of the BBC will be appearing in Columbus.[emember_protected custom_msg=”Full content protected for online subscribers. The Pettisville 4×800 team of Kyle Lantz, Jeremy Mann, Dominic Frey and Tim Iott placed second, punching their ticket to the big dance in the capitol city. Unable to clear the regional hurdle was the perennial powerhouse in the 4×800 event, the Hilltop Cadets, who finished out of the running in eighth place.

Dominic Frey will also be participating in the 1600 at Columbus, thanks to his fourth place finish at Tiffin. Rounding out the local field will be Luke Graber of Stryker, who emerged from Tiffin as the D-III Regional Champion with a first place in the 800 meter run. His time of 1:58.96 was the fastest time of all the 800 meter events over all four regional sites. The Panther senior takes his show to Columbus for one more go at the gold.
