Pettisville Wins One, Loses Two At Spiketacular

(September 27th, 2014)-ARCHBOLD: Going against Archbold, Tinora, and Hilltop, the Lady Blackbirds of Pettisville had their work cut out for them on Saturday.

Hilltop was the first team in the gauntlet. Pettisville managed to take down their BBC foe in straight sets of 25-12 and 25-15.

Pettisville’s Dana Fricke dominated the net in the match, making 13 kills and 4 blocks. Stephanie Hubby added 15 digs to the Blackbird victory.

Archbold came next for Pettisville. Game 1 was a tight one, with Archbold just edging out the Lady Blackbirds 27-25. Pettisville tried to force a third game, but fell just short in game 2 21-25.


Blackbird Kate Kauffman managed 13 assists, 2 digs, and an ace on the match. Fricke made 9 kills and 3 blocks for Pettisville as well.

The last game for the Blackbirds pitted them against a strong Tinora team. The girls of Pettisville struggled against the Rams, dropping the first set 15-25. Game 2 was very similar, with Pettisville losing 16-25.

Hubby defended the floor with 10 digs. Jordyn Pursel made 8 digs and 4 kills in the loss.
