Hilltop Drops Three Matches At Spiketacular

September 28, 2014Updated:December 31, 2020No Comments1 Min Read

(September 27th, 2014)-ARCHBOLD: Hilltop made the trip to Archbold to take on three other teams on Saturday. Those teams happened to be BBC opponent Pettisville, Antwerp, and Central.

The Lady Cadets took on Pettisville first. The Blackbirds were in rare form, however, and Hilltop fell in straight sets of 12-25 and 15-25.

Baylee Schmitt made 7 assists and 2 digs for the Cadets. Ariana Brown nailed 3 kills and a block in the loss.

Antwerp was next in line to take on the girls of Hilltop. The Lady Cadets bounced back from their earlier loss to Pettisville, but just couldn’t get over the hump against the Archers. They dropped straight sets of 22-25 to lose the match.

Cadet Allie Schmitt registered 7 kills and 2 digs. Cierra Grant put down 7 kills a block, also adding 3 digs to the Hilltop effort.

The third match of the day for Hilltop, this one against Central, played eerily similar to the one with Antwerp. The Lady Cadets again lost in straight, but close sets of 22-25.

Allie Schmitt recorded 7 kills and 2 digs. Grant made an impressive 6 blocks while also making 6 digs, 2 kills, and an ace.
