A Lyons man was sentenced on February 29, 2016, in the Fulton County Common Pleas Court according to county prosecutor Scott A. Haselman. Zachary Tipton, 36, previously pled guilty to Theft, Forgery, and Misuse of Credit Cards. On or about September 18, 2015, he forged a signature on a check, and on or about August 18, 2016 to November 4, 2015, he used another’s credit card. Judge James E. Barber sentenced Mr. Tipton to 3 years of community control and ordered him to pay prosecution costs, including court appointed counsel fees, pay restitution of $6,887.89 to the victim, successfully complete the SEARCH Program at the Northwest Community Corrections Center, stay out of bars/taverns, not possess or consume alcohol or illegal substances, and seek and maintain employment. Failure to comply could result in Mr. Tipton spending 24 months in prison.
An Archbold man was sentenced on March 2, 2016, in the Fulton County Common Pleas Court. Brandon Rivera, age 25, previously pled guilty to Aggravated Trafficking in Drugs. According to Fulton County Prosecutor Scott A. Haselman, on or about November 14, 2013, Mr. Rivera sold or offered to sell oxycodone. Judge James E. Barber sentenced Mr. Rivera to 2 years of community control. He ordered Mr. Rivera to serve 21 days in CCNO with HITT or work release, pay prosecution costs and counsel fees, pay restitution in the amount of $50 to the MAN Unit, pay a $250 fine, not consume or possess alcohol or drugs, not enter bars/taverns, successfully complete drug/alcohol aftercare recommended by A Forever Recovery, and abide by an 11:00 PM to 6 :00 AM curfew. His driver’s license was suspended for six months, with occupational driving privileges. Failure to abide by these conditions could result in Mr. Rivera spending 12 months in prison.
FULTON COUNTY SHERIFF
Sheriff Roy E. Miller announces that the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office conducted a Traffic Enforcement Blitz that ran February 25th through February 29th. Deputies who worked this Traffic Enforcement Blitz made 27 traffic stops and issued 8 citations. The citations were issued for speed violations. Deputies also issued 19 warnings during the Blitz. The Traffic Enforcement Blitzes are paid for from a grant that the Sheriff’s Office received from the Ohio Department of Public Safety.
Sheriff Miller and his deputies are dedicated to protecting the citizens of Fulton County and the motorists who travel its highways. The grant allows extra patrol to enforce traffic laws that will increase the safety of motorists on the roadway in areas that are prone to a higher number of serious and fatal crashes.

Authorities are investigating a break in that occurred at the Main Stop in Lyons, Ohio. On February 13, 2016, suspect(s) shattered a glass door and stole 74 cartons of Marlboro cigarettes. The total value of the items stolen is $4,548.20.
Authorities are also investigating a theft at 1365 County Road K, Swanton, Ohio. On February 22, 2016, a Ford F-350 truck was stolen, and found in a field on County Road 12. The truck is missing the white truck bed, outside mirrors, and an interior control panel. Also stolen were 20 CD’s. The total value of the items stolen is $2,800.
