Richard-C-Lees-WEBRichard C. “Dick” Lees, age 87, of Delta, passed away at Swanton Health Care on Sunday, October 4, 2015.  He was born in Toledo, Ohio on September 12, 1928 to the late Edmund Lees and Hazel (Kenyon) Lees.  Dick was a graduate of Macomber High School in Toledo and following graduation he served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. Richard married Patricia Peabody on November 29, 1950 and she survives.

Dick retired from United Airlines with forty years of service. After his retirement he worked for Sauder’s Museum for over twenty-three years. He also worked for Coast to Coast, Air Wisconsin and Hayes Travel Agency.  Dick was an avid volunteer for the Toledo Road Runners and a faithful Red Cross donor.  He was a member of the Ohio Masonic Fraternity, Lions Club, Aetna Grange, Trinity Episcopal Church in Toledo and attended Winameg Christian Church near Delta. Dick enjoyed collecting knifes, was an animal lover and an avid Ohio State Buckeye fan; but most of all loved spending time with his grandchildren and family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Randy Raker.

Richard is survived by his wife of 64 years, Patricia; daughters, Kristen (Larry) Raker-Barney, of Whitehouse and Lynn (Edgar) Singleton of Columbus; grandchildren, Jordan (Elaine) Raker, Christopher Raker, Mackenzie Barney, Benjamin Singleton and Kyle Singleton; sister Phyllis (Robert) Romick of Toledo.

Private interment will be at Winameg Cemetery; with a private memorial service to follow at Winameg Christian Church. Pastor Floyd Vincent will be officiating. Barnes Funeral Chapel, 5825 State Route 109, Delta has been trusted with arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be considered to Nature’s Nursery, Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Winameg Christian Church or to the Sauder’s Museum.

A special thanks to the staff of Swanton Health Care and Hospice of Northwest Ohio for your care and attention. He will be watching his beloved Buckeyes take home the National Championship once again.  Online condolences may be sent to the family through our website at www.barnesfuneralchapel.com.
