Ronald E. Faber, 89, of Montpelier passed away on Thursday, November 21, 2024 at his home.

He was born on April 3, 1935 in Montpelier to Jacob S. and Waneta (Shaul) Faber. On December 6, 1952 he married the love of his life, Carol A. Riter and she survives.

Ron was a member of the Montpelier Moose Lodge. He retired from the Bryan Ford dealership in the body shop. He also worked for his father-in-law at Riter Body Shop in Bryan and on the Road Crew at ODOT out of Montpelier for 15 years.

Ron had a passion for CB radios and talking with people all over the country. He was a handy man and loved fixing things. Ron enjoyed taking trips on his motorcycles.


Ron is survived by his wife of 72 years, Carol Faber; four children, Diane K. Wescotte of Edon, Linda L. Reitzel of Edon, Joyce A. Horne of Edon, Douglas E. (Cindi) Faber of Strasburg, VA; ten grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; and three great great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Wanda (Faber) McKarns and infant sister Connie Faber; two granddaughters, Lesley A. Wescotte and infant granddaughter, Kandythe L. Reitzel.

Visitation for Ron will be on Tuesday, November 26th from 10-12pm at the Thompson Funeral Home in Montpelier. Services will follow at 12pm at the funeral home with Reverend Eric Dailey to officiate. Following the service, Ron will be laid to rest at Riverside Cemetery in Montpelier.


Memorial contributions may be given to the First United Methodist Church or CHP Hospice. Condolences can be left for the family at www.thethompsonfuneralhome.com.
