Scoring Summaries Thursday, April 14, 2016:
VARSITY SOFTBALL
Hilltop 10, Stryker 4
The Cadets scored seven runs in the first two innings and rolled to victory. A. Schmitt knocked in two runs to lead the Hilltop charge. Adding one RBI apiece for the Cadets were Aubrey Wyse, Bailey Funkhouser, Becca Miller and Ariana Brown. Kaitlyn Wonders led Stryker finishing two for four hitting in two runs. Funkhouser was on the mound for Hilltop and gave up four runs on 10 hits. She struck out six in the complete game win. Miranda Maynard pitched for Stryker giving up 10 runs on 10 hits with one strikeout.
Evergreen 3, Wauseon 2
The Indians led throughout the contest until the bottom of the seventh inning. Two Viking runs propelled them to the NWOAL win. Eden Eisel was two for four with two RBI to lead Evergreen. Becca Jankowski, Rachael Noe and Smithmeyer all had two hits each. The Indians scored in the top of the first and again in the fifth inning. Maddy Martinez and Reagan Spadafore had the two RBI hits. Noe got the win as she pitched the complete game. She allowed two runs on four hits and struck out five. Alisa Shelt gave up 10 hits allowing the three runs and she accumulated 14 strikeouts for Wauseon.
Archbold 6, Montpelier 0
The Bluestreaks had three runs in the third and fourth innings to produce the NWOAL win. Archbold was led in hitting Montpelier was led in hitting by McKelvey who was two for three with two singles. Suffel had the same two for three with two singles stat. Nemire took the loss giving up four hits.
Pettisville 21, Fayette 0
After scoring 11 runs through three innings, the Blackbirds added 10 in the fourth to end the game in five innings. Jasmyn Barton led the hitting for Pettisville with a single and double. Kyra Behnfeldt added three singles and Brittany Sauder, Kalie Blosser, Sydney Purtee, Gretchen Lee finished with one single a piece. Behnfeldt threw a no hitter for the Blackbirds as she went five innings and striking out 10. Brubaker took the loss for Fayette pitching 3.1 innings giving up five hits while striking out five.
North Central 7, Edon 2
Going into the bottom of the fifth it was a 3-2 North Central lead. In the Eagles half of the fifth innings they crossed the plate four times to run away for the BBC win. Makayla Hayes hit a home run to lead North Central to the win. She finished one for three with two RBI. Tristen Tomblin also contributed to the win with two RBI with a double. Makayla Knapp added one RBI. Edon got RBI from E. Zulch and S. Manahan. Besides her home run, Hayes threw the complete game giving up two runs on two hits and struck out 10 batters. S. Mason also threw a complete game for the Bombers as she gave up seven runs on five hits and struck out eight.
Bryan 6, Swanton 0

VARSITY BASEBALL
Pettisville 8, Fayette 2
The Blackbirds got off to a fast start with three first-inning runs. Dillon King finished one for four, but that one hit knocked in three runs for Pettisville. John Rufenacht added one RBI. Getting hits for the Eagles were: Drake Bowditch, Joel Smith, Isaiah Garrett, Casen Burkholder and Max Baker. Christian Barhite got the complete game win giving up two runs on five hits with 10 strikeouts. Burkholder was o the hill for Fayette and gave up eight runs on four hits while striking out one.
Wauseon 13, Evergreen 1
It was the Brady Rupp show at the home of the Vikings. The senior hurler pitched four innings throwing 57 pitches. He allowed one run and struck out five. At the plate Rupp was three of four with four RBI. Marcel Barajas came on in he fifth inning and allowed no hits. Jac Flory and Jeremiah Kauffman added two RBI each and Josh Whitcomb, Travis Smith and Franklin Peralta added one RBI apiece. Nick Etue opened on the mound for Evergreen and pitched three innings giving up 11 runs on eight hits with four strikeouts. Bryce Hudik relieved Etue and pitched two innings allowing two runs on four hits while striking out one. Etue had the lone hit for Evergreen.

Archbold 11, Montpelier 2
Montpelier scored theit two runs in the first inning while the Bluestreaks took the lead in the third 3-2 and went on for the win. Ian Radabaugh was three for four with two RBI. Gabe Petersen had two hits in his four at bats with a RBI and Derek Walker also collected two hits. Ben Bucklew pitched six innings for Archbold giving up two runs on three hits and five strikeouts. Radabaugh came in to finish the game allowing one hit and two strike outs.
Stryker 9, Hilltop 2
The Panthers broke the game open with a five-run fifth inning for the BBC win. C Benson, C. Frey, A. Frisbie, J. Wonders, I Ferguson and A. Grice all contributed with one RBI each. Cole Haynes and Jacob Champion led Hilltop with one RBI each. B. Shock threw six innings for Styrker giving up eight hits and striking out nine. C. Benson tossed the final inning striking out two. Nic Schieber pitched 4.2 innings for Hilltop giving up seven runs on eight hits with three strike outs. Champion was on the mound for the final 2.1 innings and gave up one run on three hits with one strike out.
Edon 14, North Central 0
Landon Bloir hurled a no hitter and accumulated 18 strikeouts as The Bombers won the lopsided BBC contest.
