GIRLS VARSITY SOCCER

Ottawa Hills 3, Delta 0

(No game stats received)


BOYS VARSITY SOCCER

Toledo Christian 4, Delta 3

Toledo Christian hosted the Delta Panthers in a non-league contest. Jared Gilders scored Delta’s first goal at the 14-minute mark off a direct kick. Toledo Christian followed that goal with three of their own during the first half. The last goal of the half came off the foot of Delta’s Ethan Myers with four minutes remaining until the break with an assist by Gilders.  The two team traded goals during the second half. The Panthers’ Thomas Cupp scored Delta’s final goal 15 minutes into the half with an assist by Anthony Russell.

Archbold 11, Liberty Benton 0


The Bluestreaks tear continues as they moved to 10-0-1 with non-league shutout win.  Kaiden Bedsole smoked Liberty Benton with four goals during the win. Other Streaks adding goals were: Jared Kidder, Luke McQuade, Gerson Calderon, Josh Kidder, Clay Gerig and Connor Hagans.

Bryan 1, Defiance 0

The Golden Bears traveled to Defiance and gained a non-league victory. Phenick Thongpasouk scored the game’s only goal for the Golden Bears on a penalty kick.  Evan Smith recorded 3 saves as the goal keeper.  Bryan’s record is now 7-1-3, 2-0-1 NWOAL.

BOYS JUNIOR VARSITY SOCCER

Bryan lost to Defiance by the score of 1-0.

GIRLS VARSITY TENNIS


Bluffton 3, Archbold 2

The Bluestreaks travelled to Bluffton for the weekend match. Caroline Kinsman lost in a tough First Singles with scores of 6-2, 3-6, 0-6. Archbold got victories in the second and third singles matches when Darby Stevens was a 6-0, 6-0 winner in Second Singles and Isabel Krieger was the Third Singles winner with scores of 6-4, 6-1.  Bluffton swept the doubles matches. Archbold’s Morgan Perry and Amanda Payne lost in First Doubles with scores of 1-6, 1-6 and Leah Miller and Callie Rohrs were defeated 2-6, 2-6 in Second Doubles.

VARSITY VOLLEYBALL

The Pettisville Blackbirds were victorious in two non-conference matches.  In their first match versus Liberty Center, the Blackbirds soared to a 25-14 and 25-6 win to improve to 11-2 on the season.  Leading the Blackbirds were: Kyra Behnfeldt- 4/4 Serving, 15 Digs; Teagan Kauffman- 4/4 serving with 1 Ace, 10/12 Hitting w/5 Kills; Morgan Leppelmeier- 16/16 Serving w/9 Aces,

 7/9 Hitting w/3 Kills; Jess Youse- 6/7 Serving, 14/19 Hitting w/8 Kills; Carly Bontrager- 12/12 Serving w/4 Aces, 43/43 Setting w/22 Assists; Sami Tilley 7/7 Hitting w/5 Kills.  In their second win over Edgerton with scores of 25-19 and 25-18, the 12-2 Blackbirds were led by: Kyra Behnfeldt- 5/6 Serving, 20 Digs;  Teagan Kauffman- 6/7 serving with 1 Ace, 18/22 Hitting w/7 kills; Morgan Leppelmeier- 8/8 Serving w/2 Aces, 17/20 Hitting w/8 kills; Jess Youse- 5/6 Serving, 18/19 Hitting w/10 Kills; Carly Bontrager- 12/13 Serving w/2 Aces, 69/70 Setting w/25 Assist;   Sami Tilley- 9/11 Hitting w/3 Kills.

North Central finished one and one in a tri-match with Fairview and Wauseon.  The Eagles defeated Fairview with scores of 26-24 and 25-21, but fell to the Indians with scores of 20-25 and 11-25. (No individual stats were submitted).

The Delta Panthers lost both ends of a non-league tri match. The Panthers were defeated by Napoleon 25-21, 23-25, 21-25 in the first match then dropped the second match to Delta lost to Tinora 25-22, 15-25 and 21-25. (No individual stats submitted.)

JUNIOR VARSITY VOLLEYBALL

Pettisville gained two victories in a pair of non-conference matches. Against Liberty Center, the Blackbirds 23-25, 25-23, 25-17 winners.  Leading Pettisville during the match were: Mauricea Crouch – 15/16 serving, 5 aces;  Danielle King – 11/11 serving, 4 aces, 7 digs; Jordan skates – 15/15 serving, 3 aces, 3 kills; MIkayla Graber – 13/13 serving, 3 aces; Ryeana Klopfenstein – 25/27 serve receive, 8 digs.  In the second match, the Blackbirds handed Edgerton a 25-20, 25-8 loss. Participating for Pettisville included: Jordan Skates – 8/8 hitting, 3 kills; Danielle King – 8/8 hitting, 3 kills; Ryeana Klopfenstein – 8/8 serve receive, 5 digs; Mauricea Crouch – 17/17 serving, 3 aces, 30/30 setting, 5 assists; Mikayla Graber – 23/23 setting, 3 assists.

North Central lost in both matches of a triangular.  In their first match, the Eagles were defeated 16-25, 26-24, 21-25 by Fairview.  North Central then dropped their second match 14-25 and 18-25 to Wauseon. (No individual stats were submitted.)

JUNIOR HIGH VOLLEYBALL

Fayette was a 25-15, 23-25, 25-16 winner over Pettisville in a seventh grade match up. (No individual stats were submitted.)

BOYS VARSITY GOLF

The Bryan Golden Bears won the Edgerton Invitational with a score of 349.  Leading the Golden Bears were: Case Hartman and Owen Beaver with 84s, Peyton Lamberson (87), Connor Shirkey (94) and Connor Lemons (97).  Other teams of interest include: Edgerton (3rd place) 355 points. The Bulldogs competing included: Jake Siebenaler (81), Drew Hug (89), Dacoda Faber (90), Brody Michael (95), Cameron Schaper (98). Edon (6th place) 406 points. The Bombers finishing included: Evan Fisk and Bradon Bauer (91), Tatum Shaffter (101) and Colin Dulle (123). Montpelier was seventh (418 points). The Locomotives participating included: Aaron Stoy (100), Garrett Witte and Brock O’Neal (105), Roman Sommer (107) and Tyler Rupp (111).

GIRLS VARSITY GOLF

Montpelier finished third and Edgerton fourth during the Edgerton Invitational. The Locomotives’ round of 514 consisted of: Brooklyn Dye (120), Elizabeth Fritsch (122), Gabby Cox (133) and Katie Taylor (142).  The Lady Bulldogs round of 360 included: Hannah Sleesman (98), Hannah Sulfridge (128) and Megan Riehle (134).

GIRLS VARSITY CROSS COUNTRY

The teams of interest competing in the Liberty Center Widewater Invitational included: Pettisville, Archbold and Evergreen. The Locomotives were third in the race. The Blackbirds won the 12-team race with 62 points while the Bluestreaks were 10th with 237 and the Vikings were 11th with 261.  Individually for the Blackbirds: Alexa Leppelmeier (4th, 19:35), Elizabeth Sauder (8th, 19:55), Nichole Foor (9th, 20:06), Kate Stuber (20th, 21:12), Kelly Miller (21st, 21:16), Sarah Foor (59th, 23:47), Sarah Herring (67th, 24:15), Krystine Davis (71st, 24:25), Katie Hauter (121st, 32:01). (Archbold and Evergreen’s finishers were not submitted for publication.) In the other Division, Montpelier ran to a third place finish with 127 points. Leading the Locomotives were; Jacqueline Carlson (8th, 21:10), Kimme Engels (12th, 21:35), Brinn Miller (24th, 22:35), Lydia Grime (31st, 23:06) and MaryJoe McBride (96th, 33:20).

BOYS VARSITY CROSS COUNTRY

The teams of interest competing in the Liberty Center Widewater Invitational included: Montpelier, Edgerton, North Central, Fayette, Pettisville, Stryker and Hilltop. The Locomotives finished third in the 13-team race with 146 points. Running for Montpelier included: Jared Rediger (10th, 17:36), Michael Blake (11th, 17:38), Alec Waterston (30th, 18:27), Kolden Uribes (49th, 19:06), Austin Miller (56th, 19:17), Brandon Eitniear (85th, 20:25.07), Tre Hutchinson (86th, 20:25.96; Daniel Banks (87th, 20:27), Bradey Clair (120th, 22:19), Nate Hutchinson (121st, 22:27). Edgerton was fifth with 171 points, North Central was sixth with 172 points, Fayette was seventh with 185 points, Pettisville was eighth with 189 points, Stryker was 12th with 210 points and Hilltop was 13th with 323 points. Participating for Pettisville were: Ben Gray (19th, 18:10), Logan Rufenacht (23rd, 18:14), Caleb Nolander (41st, 18:53), Zach Morrisison (42nd, 18:55), Evan Warner (79th, 19:57), Jacob Myers (94th, 20:32). Montpelier, Edgerton, North Central, Fayette, Stryker and Hilltop’s finishers were not submitted for publication.)

GIRLS JUNIOR HIGH CROSS COUNTRY

In the 11 team field taking part in the Widewater Invitational teams of interest included: Archbold (2nd, 49 points); Delta (6th, 155 points), Fayette (7th, 166 points), Montpelier (8th, 178 points), Evergreen (9th, 201 points), Pettisville (11th, 239 points).  Pettisville’s finishers included: Karsyn Hostetler (8th, 13:16), Ellie WIxon (60th, 16:06), Madeline Shumaker (86th, 18:33), Anna Hudspeath (93rd, 20:21), Mayzie Clark (96th, 21:37).

BOYS JUNIOR HIGH CROSS COUNTRY

130 runners took part in the Widewater Invitational.  Pettisville’s finishers included: Max Leppelmeier (1st, 11:09), Josh Basselman (107th, 16:57) and Dominic Heising (120th, 18:39).
