Seven Sentenced By Williams County Common Pleas Court

Dustin L. Bush of West Unity pleaded guilty and was convicted of engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity, a first-degree misdemeanor. Bush was sentenced to a five-year term of incarceration through ODRC with a mandatory period of five years of post-release control. This sentence was ordered to run concurrently with a sentence imposed by Fulton County. Credit was given for time served.

Anthony J. Coppler of Stryker pleaded guilty and was convicted of attempted illegal cultivation of marijuana, a third-degree felony.  Coppler was sentenced to three years of community control with 180 days of incarceration to be served at CCNO.  All said days were suspended pending compliance with the terms of probation.

Kayla K. Fischer of Montpelier pleaded guilty and was convicted of aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony.  Fischer was sentenced to an eleven-month term of incarceration through ODRC and a discretionary period of three years post release control. Credit was given for time served. Fischer also pleaded guilty and was convicted of failure to appear, a fourth-degree felony and sentenced to a 17-month term of incarceration through ODRC.  The sentences are ordered to run consecutively.

Jon E. Helton of Hillsdale, Michigan pleaded guilty and was convicted of attempted vandalism, a first-degree misdemeanor.  Helton was sentenced to one year of community control with 90 days of incarceration to be served at CCNO.  Credit was given for time served and the remaining days were suspended pending compliance with the terms of probation.

Charles A. Landers of Montpelier pleaded guilty and was convicted of attempted aggravated possession of drugs, a third-degree felony.  Landers was sentenced to an 18-month term of incarceration through ODRC and fiend $5000.  Credit was given for time served.


Levi G. Leggett of Bryan pleaded guilty and was convicted of aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony.  Leggett was sentenced to three years of community control with 180 days of incarceration to be served at CCNO.  All days were suspended pending compliance with the terms of probation.  Legget was additionally fined $500.

Cheryl L. Shaffer of Bryan pleaded guilty and was convicted of aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony.  Shaffer was sentenced to one year of community control with 180 days of incarceration to be served at CCNO.  Credit was given for time served and all remaining days were suspended pending compliance with the terms of probation.
