Six People Indicted By Defiance County Grand Jury

(PRESS RELEASE) – Defiance County Prosecuting Attorney, Morris J. Murray, has released the following information regarding recent Indictments returned by a Defiance County Grand Jury on September 4, 2024:

–Marcia K. King, age 49, 431 Walnut St., Defiance, was indicted for One Count of Obstructing Justice, a Felony of the Fifth Degree.

Authorities allege that on August 26, 2024, at her residence on Walnut St., in Defiance, King did, with purpose to hinder the discovery/apprehension of another for a crime, harbor or conceal said individual, and the crime committed or alleged to have been committed by the person aided was a felony.

–Jessica C. Fonseca, age 48, 936 Wilhelm St., Defiance, was indicted for One Count of Aggravated Possession of Drugs, a Felony of the Fifth Degree. Authorities allege that on April 29, 2024, during a traffic stop on State Route 66 N, in Defiance, Fonseca was found in possession of Methamphetamine, a Schedule II drug.


–Mark A. Shaw, age 27, 19930 Road 1038, Oakwood, was indicted for One Count of Menacing by Stalking, a Felony of the Fourth Degree. Authorities allege that on or about August 21-22, 2024, Shaw engaged in a pattern of conduct that caused mental distress to another and also caused the victim to believe that he would cause them or their family physical harm. Authorities also allege that Shaw trespassed on the land or premises where the victim lives.

–Adalberto Vega Jr., age 43, 1034 Ottawa Ave., Defiance, was indicted for Three Counts of Domestic Violence, and One Count of Strangulation, each a Felony of the Third Degree, as well as One Count of Strangulation, a Felony of the Fourth Degree.

Authorities allege that in August of 2023, February of 2024, and on August 12, 2024, at a residence on E. Second St., in Defiance, Vega caused or attempted to cause physical harm to a family or household member, and he has four prior Domestic Violence convictions, elevating the level of these offenses to Felonies of the Third Degree.


Authorities further allege that during the August 13, 2024 incident, Vega also created a substantial risk of serious physical harm to the victim by means of strangulation and suffocation, and he also knowingly caused or created a substantial risk of physical harm to the victim by means of strangulation or suffocation.

–Bobby L. Hunt, age 41, 1380 Ayersville Ave., Defiance, was indicted for Three Counts of Failure to Appear as Required by Recognizance, each a Felony of the Fourth Degree. Authorities allege that on August 26, 2024, Hunt failed to appear at the Defiance County Common Pleas Court for hearings, in connection with the commission of felonies, after having been released on a personal recognizance bond, in three cases.

–Andrea N. Morrow, age 45, 536 Touvelle St., Lot 69, Celina, was indicted for Two Counts of Aggravated Possession of Drugs, each a Felony of the Fifth Degree. Authorities allege that on August 16, 2024, during a traffic stop on US 24, in Defiance, Morrow was found in possession of Methamphetamine and Oxycodone, both of which are Schedule II drugs.

Arraignments are scheduled for Wednesday, September 18, 2024, at 9 a.m.
