Prior to the regular Thursday morning sessions of the Williams County Commissioners on January 21, 2021, the monthly report from Hillside Country Living was given by the new Director Darrell Moore.

Also present on the Zoom meeting were Business office manager Steve Rinell and Former Director/Transition Consultant Donna Sprow. Moore was welcomed by the Commissioners and gave his report, which included the news that two of the wings are in the yellow zone and there are no active covid residents at this point in the COVID Wing.

Since the pandemic began, Hillside has had 24 employees and 11 residents who have tested positive for COVID, but no one in the facility has it at present. Moore also informed the commissioners that they are starting admissions again. The new fiber optics are in and should be up and running for better internet connection right away.

During the Regular Session Commissioner Rummel reported that he had shared at the Mayor’s meeting held on January 20, 2021 concerning the PPE Applications for Small Businesses”

“They are available again and I would encourage all Small businesses that didn’t choose to go last time to get that money, to look at that and do that if they have employees. If their payroll is $1000 then in a restaurant situation they could get $3500 to $4000.”

“I don’t know that for a $1000 worth of payroll that it is really worth it so that might leave some smaller businesses out. But some of the mid-sized I would call them, restaurants if their payroll is going to be in that $4000 a month type thing, they could literally get $15 – $18,000.”

“It is well worth the effort to fill out the paperwork for that federal PPE money,” he said, adding, “As a small business owner I would like to extend the invitation to anybody who has questions, comments or concerns on that. We can reach out and help.”

The commissioners voted to approve:

•Resolution 42 accepting and approving an Annexation for the Village of West Unity
