GIRLS VARSITY SOCCER
August 22nd, 2016

Springfield 2, Archbold 1
Kamryn Hostetler scored the Streaks’ lone goal with an assist by Faith Wyse.

August 23rd, 2016

The Bryan Golden Bears were defeated by the Lake Flyers 7-0 in non-league play.


August 25th, 2016

Archbold 9, Ottawa Hills 0
The Blue Streaks notched the shutout victory as eight different players scored goals. Andi Peterson led the charge with two goals scored. Also scoring for Archbold were Kamryn Hostetler, Naomi Rodriguez, McKenna Lantz, Lexa Richardson, Chloe Nofziger, Emie Peterson and Shylo Richardson. Givlin Lee, McKenna Lantz, Emie Peterson, Kamryn Hostetler and Naomi Rodriguez also turned in assists with Peterson helping on two goals.

Bryan 3, Wauseon 2
The teams were even at the break as Jaydelin Vasvery scored at the 22:54 mark before Bryan was able to find the net. The Golden Bears did tie the game at 1-1 with 9:64 remaining with a goal by Emily Gorzelanczky. The Indians took a 2-1 advantage on another Vasvery goal with 17:01 remaining in the game. That lead disappeared just second later when Allye Minor scored for Bryan at the 16:14 mark. The two teams battled for the next 13 minutes before the Golden Bear’s Gracie Voight snuck the ball passed Wauseon’s Hannah Spadafore for the one goal victory. Norah Pool had two assists and Voight tallied one.

August 27th, 2016

Defiance 3, Wauseon 1
The Indians fell to the Bulldogs in a non-league match. Jadelyn Vasvery scored the lone Indians goal from her midfield position. Hannah Spadafore collected eight saves on goal and Torri Bost finished with six shots on goal.

BOYS VARSITY SOCCER
August 22nd, 2016

Pettisville 5, Rossford 0
The Blackbirds scoring came at the feet of Detric Yoder (2), Connor Wyse (2), Canidate Vickery, and Mitchell Avina. Pettisville took 18 shots on goal while Rossford took only three.


August 23rd, 2016

Archbold 3, Van Buren 0
Caleb Wooley saved four kicks from the goal as Van Buren finished with 13 shots on goal to lead the Blue Streaks to the shutout win. Jared Kidder’ hat trick bolted the Streaks to the win. His first score was at the 35:12 mark of the second half while the others followed at 26:03 and 25:08. Kidder’s first was on an assist by Lucas Yoder while his other two were with the help of Kaiden Bedsole.

Bryan 7, Wauseon 0
The Golden Bears Varsity defeated Wauseon at home. Scoring goals for Bryan were Tyler Manon (2), Daniel Borland (2), Henry DeLeon, Evan Smith, and Ethan Deel. Recording assists were Daniel Borland (2), Phenick Thongpasouk (3), and Atland Sayarath. Bryan’s record moved to 2-0, 1-0 NWOAL.

August 25th, 2016

Pettisville and Maumee battled to a 3-3 draw in non-conference action. The Blackbirds’ scoring came from Zach Morrison, Connor Wyse and Canidate Vickery. Pettisville had nine shots on goal to eight for Maumee.

August 27th, 2016

Elida 6, Delta 1
The Panthers faced a tough Elida team who jumped out to a 4-0 lead at the break. Delta continued to play an excellent match and did break up the shutout with a goal from Ethan Myers five minutes into the last half with an assist from Anthony Russell. Elida responded later with two more goals. Thanks to Myers goal, the shut out was denied as it was also noted the defense and midfielders also gave a valiant effort in holding off Elida’s offensive attacks.
