Spring Sports Roundup For Monday, April 5th

VARSITY BASEBALL

Ayersville 10 Fayette 0 (6 inn.)

Pilot pitchers Caden Craft and Luke Delano combined for a no-hitter while striking out 12 Eagle hitters in a 10-0 win. Blake Eiden paced the Ayersville offense with two hits and Ike Eiden had two RBIs.

Archbold 15 Hilltop 0 (5 inn.)

Jayden Seiler fired a no-hitter for the Bluestreaks as they pushed seven runs across the plate in the first inning to put the game away early. Archbold (6-0) collected eight hits as a team and were led in RBIs by Jaybe Burkle, Ashton Kammeyer, Carson Dominique, and Jack Hurst with two each.

Perrysburg 13 Bryan 3 (5 inn.)

Bryan (1-4) took an early 2-0 lead before Perrysburg responded with three runs in the bottom of the first on their way to a 13-3 win. Clayton Rupp and Mikey Wolff each singled for the Golden Bears to account for Bryan’s two hits in the game.

Sylvania Northview 6 Evergreen 3

Down 6-0 going to their last at-bat, the Vikings scored three runs with two outs before Northview was able to throw out an Evergreen runner trying to steal third to end the game. Alex Peete was 2-3 with two singles, two RBIs and Payton Boucher added a single and an RBI for Evergreen (3-3).

Toledo Christian 18 Pettisville 3 (6 inn.)

Toledo Christian led 12-2 after three innings and closed the game with six more runs in the sixth inning of a 18-3 win at Pettisville. Brayden Barrett sparked the Pettisville (2-1) offense with a two-run double in the third inning and Josh Horning recorded two singles.

VARSITY SOFTBALL

Hilltop 9 Liberty Center 2

The Hilltop bats came alive with four runs in the fifth and another four in the seventh as they got the win at Liberty Center. Kodi Brenner, who picked up the win in the circle for the Cadets, tallied three RBIs for Hilltop (5-1) including a two-run home run in the seventh. Americus Maddox had a three-hit night for the Cadets while Holly Jermeay and Sarah Barnum each had two.

Fairview 20 Montpelier 2 (5 inn.)

Nine Lady Apaches drove in at least one run as Fairview racked up 18 hits in a 20-2 rout if Montpelier. Emily Fritsch paced the Locos bats by going 1-2 with a pair of RBIs.

Pettisville 10 Toledo Christian 0 (5 inn.)

Jj Winn

Elisabeth Rochefort allowed just two hits and struck out 13 as she threw a complete game to lead the Blackbirds to a 10-0 win. Elise Hartzler was 3-4 at the plate from her lead-off spot and Taylor Boger was 1-4 with four RBIs in the win.

Eastside (IN) 8 Edgerton 3

The Lady Blazers totaled 20 hits on the night and used a four run fifth inning to put the game out of reach as they knocked off Edgerton 8-3. Rylei Moreno, Allison Elliot, and Grace Schroeder led the Edgerton attack with two hits each.

BOYS TENNIS

Bryan 5 Napoleon 0

Bryan improved to 3-1 on the season as they won three matches in straight sets an the other two by forfeit. Jay Fortner and Carter Brown both got 6-0, 6-0 wins in singles while Craig Jackson/Nathan Hess were 6-0, 6-0 winners in 1st Doubles.
