Archbold, OH – As part of Archbold’s 150th Anniversary Celebration, Sauder Village is working on a special exhibit for the Anniversary Committee. Sauder Village curators and the Anniversary Planning Committee are requesting help from local community members to develop this exhibit to celebrate the town’s history and share how Archbold has developed and changed over the past 150 years.
“We share stories of Northwest Ohio history every day at Sauder Village and we are pleased to have the opportunity to tell this very local history story in celebration of Archbold’s Sesquicentennial,” shared Kris Jemmott, Director of Historic Village Operations and Committee Member.
The Archbold Exhibit “Building Our Community” will highlight major events, challenges and successes in the Archbold community along with people who helped to shape it. The exhibit will be on display in the Sauder Village Museum Building.
“We are excited to be working with the Anniversary Committee to put this display together but it will take a lot of community support and input to create this history exhibit,” Jemmott added. “We are currently looking for unique stories, old photographs, documents, interesting artifacts, or anything else that may be of interest for this special exhibit. Monetary donations are also being accepted to help fund this project.”
If you are interested in loaning items for use in the display or have information to share contact Tracie Evans, Sauder Village Curator of Collections, at 800.590.9755 or send a message to tevans@saudervillage.org to make an appointment.
