(January 27th, 2015) – STRYKER: The Lady Panthers unleashed a great second half on their home court against Edgerton to win by four. Steady focus at the foul line and strong outside shooting paved the road to victory on Tuesday night.

The Bulldogs established control early in the first quarter at the hands of Autumn Gruver, sinking three shots from outside the three-point line. Gruver went on to contribute 16 points for her team, tripling the combined efforts of her teammates. However, Stryker’s team effort triumphed the efforts of one key opponent.

The Panther’s first act in no way discouraged their spirits early on. Scoring 11 points before halftime, the team’s momentum began to build in the third quarter. Juniors Brittany Breier and Megan Graber each added 3 points to the board with teammate Audra Rupp adding 2 in the period. Haley Doehrmann led the quarter by dealing out 7 points, scoring 10 for the game.

With the momentum building, the ladies shifted into top-gear and went on to finish the second half by instilling unbreakable concentration while shooting free-throws. The Panthers averaged 55% at the line, opposite Edgerton’s 34%. The 39-35 victory at home improved Stryker’s record to 7-9. The lady Panthers will hit the road on Thursday to play Fayette in classic BBC fashion.
