STRYKER – The Stryker Fire Department hosted an open house event on Saturday, November 26. The open house was held to celebrate the new facility and show it to the community. The Fire Department completed their move to the new building on October 14 of this year, and the open house was a thank you to the community for their support and for the new facility.
In addition to introducing the new facility to the community, the open house also was a pre-Halloween treat for parents and Trick-Or-Treaters before hitting the streets and filling the kid’s candy bags. The Fire department also this year revived a tradition held in Stryker in the past-a Halloween Costume Judging Contest. According to Lt. Larry Davis, the Fire Department intends to host this event annually, as it is a popular event with the kids in the community. This year’s contest winners were Calista Blevens (1st place), Brooke Wright (2nd place) and Morgan Bybee (3rd place).
The Fire Department open house was a tremendous success this year, and the members of the department enjoyed providing free food and entertainment for the kids and parents who attended, and they look forward to continuing this event in the future.
