Stryker Library Programs Planned For November & December

Story times at the Stryker Branch Library will continue in November and December with the “Panther Kidz” for children in grades kindergarten through second grade being held on Tuesdays from 3:15 pm to 4:00 pm. “Read to Me,” where students can read to adults, will be held on Wednesdays from 3:15 pm to 4:00 pm. “Panther Paws,” which is toddler story time for ages 2 to 5 years, will be held on Thursdays from 11:00 am to 11:30 am.

Stryker Library will continue to offer a crochet class to those who are interested. Jackie Briskey will be providing instruction for beginning crochet and guidance for those who have some experience with basic stitches. This class is for those who are age 13 and up. Class will meet at the Stryker Library from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon on Nov. 10, Dec. 15, and Dec. 29. Pre-registration is required. “Golden Retrievers,” an exercise class for seniors, will also continue to be held on Tuesdays at the Stryker Branch Library from 10:30 am to 11:15 am. Participants can gain strength and flexibility in this no-sweat exercise class. This class is designed for senior citizens, and many of the exercises are performed while sitting on a chair.

Fourth and fifth graders from Stryker School are invited to come to the Stryker Branch Library on Monday, November 12 from 3:15 pm to 4:00 pm for an Ohio State / Michigan Party. Kids are invited to come show their true colors and represent their favorite team in the Ohio State/Michigan rivalry.

Christine Tricarico, author of the children’s book Cock-a-Doodle Dance! will be on hand at the Stryker Library on Monday, Nov. 12 from 4:00 pm to 5:30 pm to do a “rockin’ reading, a doodle-dance lesson, a question and answer session, and a book signing.” Her book will be available for purchase for those who are interested.


Stryker Library will be showing a Kids Community Movie, title to be announced, on Wednesday, November 21 from 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm. Stryker Library’s Community Christmas Open House with Santa is planned for Monday, November 26 from 5:00 to 6:30 pm. Parents are encouraged to bring their cameras so they can take a picture of their child with Santa if they wish.

A Community Christmas Movie, title to be announced, will be shown on Tuesday, December 4 from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm.

Senior Citizens are invited to come and join us for a Christmas Tea on Friday, December 7 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.

The funding for some of these programs was provided by a 21st Century Grant. The Stryker Branch Library is located at 304 S. Defiance Street in Stryker, Ohio.
