The Stryker Rotary Club was formed in 1949 and just celebrated 75 years. As the oldest service club in the world, this feat was no surprise.
They were years well spent helping communities and the world through service projects and initiatives. “Service above Self” is the club’s motto.
Rotary Clubs promote peace and support Education and Stryker Rotary Club is no different; they have donated many dictionaries to students at local schools and are also involved with the youth exchange program.
The club learns of many other groups and organizations with similar goals such as Cub Scouts and Girl Scouts both groups have been guest speakers for the Rotary so that they may learn of new service projects that the scouts are working on.
Rotary core values are service, fellowship, diversity, integrity, and leadership. Not only is the Rotary good for the community, but it is also good for the members who join.
Rotary members learn public speaking skills, project management, event planning, and meeting new people from your community and beyond.
Rotary is a great place for professional networking and the Stryker Club meets every Tuesday at 6 pm at the Stryker Methodist Church. Rotarians also have many opportunities to give back to the community and make new friends.
The Stryker Rotarians are one of 45,000 clubs that work together to promote peace, fight disease, provide clean water, sanitation, and hygiene, save mothers and children, support education, grow local economies, and protect the environment. The Rotary Foundation supports Education through scholarships, donations, and service projects.
